Indonesia Jan-July oil, gas exports decline on higher domestic use

News Wire —  Indonesia exported $7.72 billion worth of oil and gas in January-July period, Djoko Siswanto, acting director general of oil and gas at the energy ministry, told reporters on Friday

It dropped from $9.86 billion in the same period last year due to higher domestic gas consumption and higher Pertamina crude purchase from contractors working in Indonesia, Siswanto said

He said domestic gas consumption was 65% of total production in the first five months of the year, compared with 60% in full year 2018

Meanwhile imports of diesel fuel fell to 2.06 million kilo litres (kl) in Jan-July period from 3.47 million kl in the same period last year due to expansion of a mandatory biodiesel programme.
