Belarus may reduce Russian gas purchases next year

Minsk — Belarus may reduce its purchases of Russian natural gas next year due to the launch of a nuclear power plant, Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said on Tuesday.

Russia and Belarus will hold talks on gas supply this week, the minister said. He added that the price Belarus pays for Russian gas would be set once a plan to integrate parts of the two countries’ economy was ready.
